Habitat  ?   On a bank of decomposed granite and granite sand. On a soft granite sheet above. Growing in sun in a dense woodland of Quercus chrysolepis, with scattered Arctostaphylos patula, Pinus ponderosa, Umellularia californica, in a ravine at the upper limits of chapparl. 
Notes  ?   Rare on bank. More common (but depauperate) on soft granite sheet.
