Habitat  ?   Arid Transitoin: Pinus Jeffreyi, Abies concolor, Pinus ponderosa. Semishade - sun: dry colcanic loam; open forest. Common. 
Notes  ?   Cypress tress in this area range from 10-60 ft. high; Tree 1. 40 ft. high, 20 ft. spread, trunk 2 ft. diam.; Tree 2. 40 ft. high, 20 ft. spead, trunk 18 in. diam. at ground. Trunks a single straight stem with cherry-like bark. Few old trees with gray furrowed bark,. Desc. cont. - but higher up and on branches cherry-like. In open, on Burney Reforestation Project, some clumps of trees 10-15 ft. high (old stands not planted) are attractive looking specimens. First trees on Burney Springs-Hat Creek R.S. Rd. are about 8 mi. from Hat Creek Ranger Station.
