Many old dead trees are standing, apparently having died of old age. There is no evidence of recent fires. In no way do these trees remind one of the groves of MACNABIANA.
Notes  ?   Tree 32 ft. high, 20 ft. thick, trunks up to 14″ at 4 ft. The trees in this grove are all sizes up to 45 feet. They are mainly erect with straight central stems. Nearly all trees are heavily laden with cones. See cones. Notation This specimen came from the parent plant, or from the same colony, from which propagation material was obtained at the same time for growth at Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden. such material is thereafter designated by the Propagation Number (Garden Field Number).
