Habitat  ?   Situated between the two Alta Peaks and above in gravel and rocks. 
Notes  ?   Few, 20-30 trees, very peculiar, immense trunks 5-7 ft. dia., 50-60 ft. high. Bark dark red, resembling Sequoia in color but rather darker, broken by deep fissures into plates from 4-10 ml and rather narrower, of 4-8 rather straigh sides. Foliage very __, branches very crooked seldom ones 4-5 ft. lo
