Locality  ?   Los Angeles Basin region: Vicinity of Irwindale east of the San Gabriel River and west of gravel pits, just north of Foothill Blvd, ca. 600 meters west of Irwindale Ave. Elev. given as 580 ft.  
Habitat  ?   Disturbed alluvial benches, the most intact areas with open scrub of Malosma laurina, Rhus integrifolia, Encelia farinosa (introduced at this site), Artemisia californica, Yucca whipplei, Opuntia x vaseyi, Lotus scoparius, and Lepidospartum squamatum. Mostly sandy or cobbly alluvium. Some areas heavily disturbed be grading, trash dumping, and vehicle traffic. 
Notes  ?   Succulent annual, generally scarce, but locally abundant where present. Leaves markedly 2-ranked. Co-occuring with Crassula connata and in a few areas also with Crassula tillaea. This plant, a recent introduction from Australia, is clearly well established at this site, but currently seems to be limited to the road shoulder.
