Locality  ?   Tehachapi Mountains: steep SW-facing slopes above Crane Canyon, c. 1 mile SE of Castac Lake. Elev. given as 4100 ft.  
Habitat  ?   Oak scrub burned last fall and now resprouting, sprouts 1-2 ft. tall. Fire apparently hot, based on little remaining potential fuel and low density of annuals. Annuals few but large; good diversity of species. Assoc. with skeletons and a few live plants of Yucca whipplei, Pinus monophylla (few), Juniperus californica, Arctostaphylos, Quercus wislizeni, etc. 
Notes  ?   Uncommon to fairly common perennial with clustered leasf rosettes (cespitose clumps); fls. white. Infls. 1.5-2 m tall. Lat/Long as stated is shown as +- 1000m.
