Outer involucre: 4.7-4.75 mm. long. Some glands ? or may these be yellow pollen grains? or fly eggs? 5 bracts, 5 rays, 5 bracts to inner invol., and 6 disk-flowers. Ray-akenes: too immature (2.5 mm. long). Ray-corolla: 5.25 mm. long dry, viscid toward base but no visible glands, pubescent 2-3 of distance from base to apex. Whitish, with the customary prominent purple veins, fading yellowish. Ray from another head 6 mm. long, 4.05 mm. wide, tube 1 mm. long, lobes 1.5 mm. long; abruptly flaring from top of tube-throat. Inner involucre: 4.5 mm. high, bracts free to base, pub. to base, tip 2.25 mm. long, lower half of bract thin, scarious, veins pale. Disk-corolla: 3.3 mm. long, dry, the akene 0.75 mm. long on outer fls. and 1.5 mm. long on inner (central) fl. therefore the central fl. extends 0.75 mm. further out of the head.
