Decomposed granite on steep slopes in a small canyon. Chaparral with Ceanothus, Dendromecon, Eriodictyon crassifolium; burned ca. 5 years ago. In open flat area at least 100 ft. below the road, ca. 3680 ft.
Very locally fairly common. Annuals to 6 ft. tall. One or two plants in openings on adjacent slopes. Fls. yellow, with moderate number still open. Plants with strong, ditinctive (sweet-resinous) odor.
