Canyon among hills, +- urbanized Monterey pine (Pinus radiata) forest with vacant lots, roadsides, etc. More intact slopes also with Quercus agrifolia, Rhamnus californica, Heteromeles, Toxicodendron, Baccharis pilularis, Salix, Rubus ursinus, Bromus carinatus, etc. At disturbed road edges and on slopes.
Uncommon but widely scattered 1.5-8 m shrubs; petals and filaments white, anthers yellow-green. Sepals reflexed. Lat-Long as stated is shown as +- 1000m
