Habitat  ?   Rounded summit dominated by grassland with rich diversity of annuals and herbaceous perennials, and surrounded by chaparral on slopes. Near the margin of the grassland. Associated with Quercus wislizeni, Sambucus mexicana, Cercocarpus betuloides, Lomatium nevadense, Viola purpurea, Lathyrus vestitus ssp. laevicarpus, Poa secunda, Lupinus formosus, Corethrogyne filaginifolia, Elymus elymoides, etc. 
Notes  ?   Rhizomatous shrub forming colonies. Stems flowering at 2 to 15 dm tall; flowers fragrant; petals white; sap bitter smelling. Flora of the Liebre Mountains
