Habitat  ?   Palm oasis and saltbush scrub, ground now dry though area was drenched by thunderstorms in late August. Summer annuals mostly dead. In open areas. 
Notes  ?   Scarce subshrub (some plants young and +- herbaceous, others with woody stems); fls. yellow. Woody stems to 3 cm diam. at base. Fls. visited by numerous honey bees and pygmy blue butterflies (swarms of the latter).
