Habitat  ?   On east facing, moss covered conglomerate rock. Plants associated with: Umbellularia californica, Platanus racemosa, Alnus rhombifolia, and Rhus diversiloba. 
Notes  ?   Locally abundant. Plants solitary. Leaves green above, maroon below. Flowers yellow, petal tips spreading to 90 degree from vertical. Type locality of Dudleya ovatifolia.
