66_100 Bible Verses For lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle heard in our land. The fig tree putteth forth her green figs and the vine with the tender grape give a good smell. -Solomon_s Song, 2:11-13. The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. _Psalms, 92:12. 66_101 Old-time Characters in the Village. The mail and express were taken from the railway station down to the village main street on a dray. The dray was a two wheeled affair consisting of a platform laid on the axle, the platform sloping backward or downward nearly to the ground. It was so built in order that heavy barrels and boxes could be rolled on to it from behind. It was drawn by one stout draft horse harnessed between the shafts. When the dray was heavily loaded behind, the shafts tended to go skyward, with the horse, in its heavy harness, as if pulling down on them.
