Same as preceding but leaves small. Pistils present, a little smaller than in preceding. Stigmas minutely crested with yellow. - Orthocarpus purpurascens = Grandmother's Paint Brush. The name Owl's Clover is very appropriate, the two dots between the folds making the eyes, the sacs swelling into the body of the owl

Trifolium tridentatum Lindl. var. segetum McDer. No. 6233. Trifolium No. 6234. Sedum [= Parvisedum] pumilum Bth. Petals linear-oblong, acute, pale yellow. Stamens 2/3 as long petals. Calyx-lobes triangular-acute. - My niece Dorris Rellet [?], Mrs. D.O. Hunt and a young Mr. Haskell came on the walk today.
