Glacier Pt. to El Portal to Berkeley
-Acer glabrum: Illilonette Trail.
An occasional tree
-Engler left his watch in the hotel and discovered his loss at Illilonette.
I sent word by passing people and the watch was sent down and reached Curry's Camp at the same time that he did.
Engler was very game, walking the eleven miles to Camp Curry from Glacier Pt.
We had a riding horse for him but he refused to use it.
At 2:30 we left by stage for El Portal.
Near El Portal Nichols and myself left the stage, he to photograph Digger pine and I for [?company]

Sept 11-12, 1913
Torreya californica. Tree 60 ft. high near Pulpit Rock.
Stayed all night at El Portal.
Train next a.m. for Oakland.
Left train at West Berkeley where I had automobiles waiting for the party, provided by the Berkeley Chamber of Commerce.
Drove to Hotel Shattuck.
At 6:00 drove the party to Hotel Oakland for the dinner of the California Botanical Society.
Schroter said the dinner was the finest menu and grandest occasion since the party landed in New York.
The guests and members were happily placed.
