No. 5416. Delphinium parishii Gray Stem simple or branching from near base. Both sets of petals notched and the lower blue ones hairy on upper surface. Nothing peculiar is noticeable about flower. Calico Wash.
No. 5417. Oenothera scapoidea T. & G. Pod pedicelled. Corolla white. Pets. broader than long, truncatish at base and short-clawed, longer than or equalling the calyx-tube, rarely shorter. Stigma greenish.
- Oenothera gauraeflora, No. 5359 cont. Pods crowded on stem, reflexed partly. Petals round-ovate, shortly clawed, shorter than the calyx-tube. The petal

No. 5418. Oenothera brevipes Gray. Pets. golden yellow, somewhat quadratish, truncatish or retuse, sessile, 2 or 3 times length of calyx tube; pods short-pedicelled.
[No. 5372 cont. Pappus plumose on lower half or sparingly upwards. Invol. scales margined with white! Ligules white, a little pinkish on back.] The color character of the white margin of the invol. scales is almost wholly lost in drying!
No. 5419 [Opuntia basilaris] Cactus. Petals rose-color, fl. very freely from ovate slabs. See no. 4842, taken last year spms. of the slabs.
