In each cluster 4 of the filaments are distinctly united at base, the others free! Styles 3, slender, spreading horizontally & widely. Mt Tamalpais. - Aralia californica, 8 ft. h. styles 5! petals white, closely reflexed! - Mt. Tamalpais.

July 26, 1919. - Quercus lobata, falling limbs W. H. Wright says: Limbs fall in hot dry summer weather on perfectly still days. He suggests that it is due to there being so little sap, that the limb as it were dries up.
