Tap Roots.
- Quercus Wislizenii var. fruticosa is shallow rooted. Easily bowled over in road-making. (As easily as Chameez? but ask Purdy).
- Quercus Californica var. cibata, tap-rooted, and the shoots [?] send down tap roots.
- Quercus Garrayana var Breweri, tap-rooted.
- Quercus chrysolepis, tap-rooted.

- Juniper. Purdy says there is a Juniper on west side of Scott Valley and in hills further west. Also a Juniper about Epperson's, Lake Co.
