[Sahni & Sitholy reported from Proceedings of 29th Congress thus: "S.R.N. Rao ... describes Amphiroa oceanica sp. nov. and Corallina andamanensis sp. nov. The latter has been shown to be different from Corallina grandis (= Lithothamnium grandis Das Gupta)". However, a formal proposal of the new name, Corallina grandis, was made by K. Sripada Rao in 1944 (Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. India, sect. B, 13: 272, 286)]
