[In Indian Ocean Catalogue epithet corrected to "tetrasporifer", following Stearn's Botanical Latin. However, there are many examples just in the algae of masculine epithets ending in "-iferus", and the Code does not require a correction (as of 2024). Name not treated by Fredericq et al. (2003); possibly validated in Guide to the Seaweeds of Kwazulu-Natal. National Botanic Garden of Belgium, Brussels (Scripta Botanica Belgica).]
