Habitaton slightly moist, Bridwell sandy loam soil from coarse, sand and gravel parent material in full sun; among grasses, in the open of a sagebrush scrub community dominated by Artemisia; a generally common, caulescent perennial ca. 4.5 dm tall with blue flowers.
