HabitatMetamorphic, granitic gneiss, schist substrate, well-drained sand, gravel.; Chaparral, shrubland. Dominants: Garrya veatchii, Adenostemma fasciculatum, Ceanothus spp., Quercus palmeri, Prunus ilicifolia, Eriodictyum trichocalyx.; Common shrub 1-1.5 meter tall; flowers cream. Most common near pond.
