NotesGlandular annual, flowers lavender, growing with type variety, generally more leafy and lighter green in color than var. ambigua, on rockier micro-sites mostly, no intergrades at this locality. Growing on Patina-stained rocky hill outcrop of metamorphic parent material. Associates: Larrea, Encelia farinosa, krameria grayi, Ambrosia dumosa, Pleuraphis rigida, Fagonia laevis, Camissonia brevipes, Plagiobothrys jonesii, C. maritima, Phacelia ambigua var. ambigua, Aliciella latifolia, Geraea canescens, ERemalche rotundifolia, Eriogonum thomasii, and Plantago ovata;
