Locality Glass Mountain Region: Along open ridgeline 4WD road about 1 mi. N of Clover Patch, 1 mi. W of Wildrose Canyon. This road leads to the Glass Mountain Ridge and Kelty Cyn.

HabitatOpen windswept rocky ridgetop bisected by rough USFS road surrounded on all sides by Artemisia - Purshia scrub. Granitic cobbles with fine silty d.g. soil between. With Stenotus acaulis, Artemisia arbuscula, Eriogonum spergulinum. E-facing (leeward) slopes with Artemisia tridentata, Purshia tridentata, Chrysothamnus viscidiflorus, Ephedra viridis, Hesperostipa comata, Eriogonum umbellatum, Grayia spinosa, Achnatherum speciosum.
