At living edge of wildfire-killed mixed conifer forest (Jeffrey pine, incense cedar, white fir, black oak; Quercus vaccinioides, Symphoricarpos mollis, Wyethia mollis, Garrya fremontii; Monardella odoratissima subsp. pallida, Sanicula graveolens, Helianthella californica var. nevadensis, Gayophytum, Eriogonum nudum, Carex brainerdii. Ligules light violet, disk flowers yellow.
