Locality Near Bear Creek, close to the town of Stonyford.

HabitatThis shrub was collected from a chaparral or brushland in the general vicinity of a ridge top on a south exposure as a member of the shrub layer in a fruiting state. The population was located on the upper third of a ridge system that had a 25 percent slope, a smooth vertical slope shape and a concave horizontal slope shape. It was growing on soil having a gravelly texture composed mainly of serpentine rock with a residual origin.
