Locality Northern High Sierra Nevada. Top of band of serpentine along Sawmill Ridge 1.0 km southeast of Delahunty Lake and 2.7 km northwest of Mt Fillmore.

HabitatOpen rocky serpentine barrens along ridgeline and knoll; mostly bare ground, widely scattered Jeffrey pine; lots of scattered Erigeron petrophilus var. sierrensis (not yet flowering), Phlox diffusa (just past flowering), Eriogonum ursinum, etc. Plants with stems and leaves matted, common, inflorescences erect; most plants with pale yellow flowers, some with lemon-yellow flowers.
