SITE IS LOCATED ACROSS HIGHWAY 140 FROM THE MERCED RIVER PARTIALLY IN ROAD FILL. ROUNDED BOULDERS EMERGING FROM THICK, ALLUVIAL, STABLE, SANDY SOIL. NO EVIDENCE OF FIRE HISTORY. SLOPE IS 3 DEGREES. ASPECT IS 266 DEGREES. SURFICIAL GEOLOGY IS FLUVIAL DEPOSITS (ALLUVIUM). COWARDIN SYSTEM IS UPLAND. SOIL TEXTURE IS LOAMY SAND. SOIL IS RAPIDLY DRAINED. PLANT ALIANCE IS PINUS SABINIANA WOODLAND ALLIANCE. PLANT ASSOCIATION IS QUERCUS WISLIZENI-ARCTOSTAPHYLOS VISCIDA WOODLAND.
