Voucher information | macromorphology | Common and/or scattered in open areas (none were seen in the large Carex dominated meadow further upstream). Plant height and size of flowers and inflorescences varied tremendously with actual location of the specimen. Plants with 1/2 inch wide flowers on 6 inch tall plants were found in drier areas, while plants with 1 inch wide flowers on 2 ft. tall plants were found in very wet (to nearly inundated) sites. Plants seemed to be most common where the riparian corridor (herbaceous vegetation) was only 6 to 12 ft. wide. | phenology | Flowering | associated species | Assoc. sp.: Ribes cereum, Salix, Symphoricarpos rotundifolius parishii, Pinus jeffreyi, Eriophyllum confertiflorum, Potentilla, Stachys albens, Mimulus guttatus, M. moschatus, Geranium, Achillea millefolium, Platanthera leucostachys, Veratrum, Horkelia, Juncus xiphioides?, Epilobium (pink fls., tall), Rumex, Carex, Trifolium, Urtica dioica, Veronica. | verbatim elevation | 2530 - 2561 m | |
