macromorphologyOccasional; distributed over hillsides and washes. High wherever available to grazing animals. 2-4 ft tall, perennial, salmon colored. Some plants have 2 seeds on receptacle; fruits during late May to June and resprouts following burning wherever observed. Pioneer on primary succession. This may possibly be a natural hybrid.
