Locality Near Grindstone Lookout along Highway 162.

HabitatIn dense chaparral/woodland, on a N-facing slope. Associates: Rhus trilobata, Cercis, and Knobcone pine. A large shrub oak ca. 6 ft. tall, stood out with its extrememly lobed leaves. Other species present: Quercus garryana, Quercus berberidifolia, Quercus kelloggii.
