Locality southern part of Cache Creek Wilderness Area. Area is accessed via Morgan Valley Road and eastern forks of Rocky Creek Road. Permission granted to use private road to get to Wilderness boundary.

HabitatSE-facing slope on edge of drainage and over the ridge from large barrens area. Microclimate warm in this spot along road that descends to Cache Creek. Growing with Ceanothus jepsonii, Eriogonum, Lotus, Allium falcifolium, Quercus durata, Arctostaphylos viscida. Annual herb. About 100 plants here. Growing with Hesperolinon drymarioides, which is present in the thousands.
