HabitatShrub, with Q. wislizenii, Ceanothus sorediatus, C. cuneatus, Arctostaphylos manzanita, A. aff. glandulosa, Pickeringia montana, Rhus diversiloba, Adenostoma fasciculatum, and Eriodictyon californicum. On steep gravelly loam (non-serpentine) belonging to the Parrish series with a redish subsoil, derived from Cretaceous marine sediments.
