Locality | Mayacmas Mountains, Above Chicago Mine. (Exact location unknown. Coordinates estimated by label maker.) |
Habitat | Population #35. Population sample. This population extends up the creek to the west adit. It is densest around the main adit. All seem to be glabrous, yellow, purple filament traces, and [S.] morisonii in type. The large bald above it, north and a little east of the main adit. is a very large population of [S.] morisonii - almost all glabrous, all yellow - there is variation in filament vascular traces and a little variation in branching habit. 3 or 4 plants with pubescent calyces occur on the upper part of the ridge. Heavy infestation of plant bugs and aphids and bees are active. Took a population sample beginning 1/2 way down and several specimens of Chicago Mine area - This needs a later sample of the top area. 536 counted and represent about 2/3 of the total population. [More specimens are available in the voucher area.] |
