Locality Angelo Coast Reserve. North of the South Fork of the Eel River. Sprague Meadow, NW area of meadow.

HabitatJohn M. Tucker notes: Adjacent to drying run across grassy area; heavy with lichens. Tree, 40-50 ft, solitary specimen; few leaves in reach, many falling. Looks like Q. wislizeni, twigs stiff = aberrant growth from browsing. Acorns clearly have Q. shrevei form as do dead leaves. Twigs with widely-angled branching, stiff. Associates: pasture grasses, yellow star-thistle, etc.
