Locality Sugarloaf Ridge State Park. About 40 air miles north of San Francisco, 11 air miles east of Santa Rosa, 18 air miles northwest of Napa, 1.5 air miles northeast of Kenwood. Along the Hillside Trail, 1/4 mile past Sugar Pine Trail junction.

HabitatAspect: north-facing. Slope: 80 degrees. Habitat: Black oak forest, shade. Associates: Ranunculus sp., Vicia sp., native bunchgrass sp., Delphinium nudicaul. Small, upright annual with whorled purple flowers, common to shady places.
