Locality Sugarloaf Ridge State Park, about 40 air miles N of San Francisco; approximately 11 air miles E of Santa Rosa, about 18 air miles NW of Napa, and about 1.5 air miles NE of Kenwood. In Adobe Canyon N of Sugarloaf Ridge along the Goodspeed Trail. Approximately 200 yards from the trail head on Adobe Canyon Road and just E of Bear Creek, about 5 yards N of confluence with Sonoma Creek.

HabitatIn flat, mixed evergreen forest. Associates: sequoia sempervirens, Pseudotsuga menziesii, Umbellularia californica, Arbutus menziesii, Acer macrophyllum, and Osmorhiza chilensis. Small woody shrub of generally moist shady habitats. CA-FP (exc GV).
