HabitatOpen ridge top, Corbett soil series, shallow on decomposed granitic rocks, slope NE 12%. Cover ca. 30%, mostly of this plant and Arctostaphylos patula subsp. Patula with scattered Calocedrus decurrens and Pinus ponderosa; locally common, shrub ca. 4-5 dm. tall, 1-2 m. in diameter.
