HabitatWillow thicket with coastal sage scrub away from the riparian area; with Salix lasiolepis, Urtica dioica, Baccharis salicifolius, etc. Uncommon shrub, ca. 5 feet high, growing under the willows, at edge of thicket. Berries green, turning reddish.
