Locality Peninsular Range: Boden Canyon, tributary of Santa Ysabel Creek at E end of San Pasqual Valley; at small reservoir in middle DFG parcel.

HabitatMud flats and drying pond margins with Typha and Salix; oak groves nearby. Uncommon to common tree to 12 m tall, on canyon bottom above pond, mostly in moist areas. Lvs. Conspicuously bicolored, even from a distance.
