Locality Sugarloaf Ridge State Park. About 50 air miles N of San Francisco, 10 air miles E of Santa Rosa, 2.5 air miles NE of Kenwood and 18 air miles NW of Napa. About 1 1/4 air miles SW of Red Mountain. Just E of Goodspeed Trailhead, along Adobe Canyon Road immed. N of road, just S of Sonoma Creek.

HabitatCanyon bottom. Habitat: bay - coast redwood riparian forest. Associates: Sanicula crassicaulis, Umbellularia californica, Acer macrophyllum, Vitus californica, Toxicodendron diversiloba, Osmorhiza, Aristolochia. Singular plant, 10 ft. tall and 12 ft. wide. Trunk about 4 inches wide at base. Native to Medit.
