Locality Mojave Desert; Southcentral Mojave Desert region: New Dixie Mine Road, transition between San Bernadino and Little San Bernadino Mountains, Big Horn Sheep Wilderness, just west of Hwy 247.
HabitatPlants occurring uncommonly between upper; rocky washlets and lower sandy washlets where the two species dominate (claviformis in upper, brevipes in lower).

otherFlowers yellow with brown center, fruit elevate, lateral leaflets on basal leaves present, cauline leaves lance-ovate and with toothed margins, fruits in between size of two. Fruits ascending like claviformis, flowers also with same red spots at base of petals like brevipes.
