Locality Central Mojave Desert: Ord Mountains, at Sweetwater Spring. Ord Mountain 7.5' Quad.
HabitatRocky canyon with metamorphic slopes and sand and gravel in wash on canyon bottom. Upland desert scrub on slopes, Populus fremontii and Forestiera around spring. No water flowing, but sand slightly moist. Fairly common on canyon floor, especially right below (+/-at) the spring. Widely scattered in gravel of canyon .bottom; mixed with A. fimbriatus and +/- equally common.
