Locality Sierra Nevada; Central Sierra Nevada region: North Fork Kings River basin: open glaciated granitic slab appx. 1.75 mi E of Courtright Reservoir Dam (Courtright Res. quad).
Habitat20 deg. S-facing open granitic slab with glacial polish and erratics. Occasional Pinus jeffreyi, Juniperus occidentalis, Arctostaphylos patula. Wet mossy seeps in cracks paint black stripes down the slabs, supporting rich microflora including Lotus oblongifolius, Muhlenbergia andina, Heterocodon rariflorus, Trichostema oblongum, Spiranthes romanzoffiana, Collinsia tinctora.
