Fine silty soil of pumice origin, forested slopes and uplands of Pinus contorta and Populus tremuloides.; Associated mesic species including Salix, Senecio triangularis, Aquilegia formosa, Smilacina stellata, Mimulus primuloides, Dodecatheon, Potentilla, Ribes, Trifolium.
