Locality Verdugo Mountains Northwest side of mountains. Verdugo Crestiline Drive (fire road) just north of the 210 Freeway. Enter on the west side at Topley Lane off of Newhome Ave. in Sunland. Cleared area just north of rife road. Cleared for fire safety (as close to homes).

associated speciesAt this time the fire road lined on both sides with Eucalyptus cf. camaldulensis. Associated plants included: Artemisia californica, Quercus agrifolia, Eucalyptus globulus, Lonicera subspicata denudata, Eriophyllum confertiflorum, Hazardia squarrosa grindelioides, Helianthus gracilentus, Paeonia californica, Gnaphalium canescens microcephalum, Cirsium occidentale californicum, Chlorogalum pomeridianum pomeridianum, Elymus glaucus glaucus, Nassella lepida, Bloomeria crocea, and Sisyrinchum bellum. Under the Eucalyptus aong road are Centauria melitensis and Sisymbrium orientale. Between the ecotone of grass and chaparral is a common line of Bromus.
