Locality Santa Rosa Plateau, Carancho Road, west side of De Luz Creek valley descending plateau, downslope from 'cut flower' farm. Fallbrook 7.5' quad. About 1370 feet northeast of San Diego county line. Elevation about 610 feet.
HabitatRocky slopes at west side of De Luz Creek; granitic sandy-loam.; Evergreen chaparral shrubland, degraded, much of it cleared for avocado farms.; Flower buds pale purplish, stems and calices pale sandy brown; leaves slightly paler beneath; infrequent (1 seen) few-branched soft woody shrub with stems about 2.5 meters long, pushed over on roadside bank by weight of other shrubs.
