Locality Northeast-facing slopes of Mount San Jacinto, Tramway Road in vicinity of road summit, Chino Canyon, about 3.8 miles due west of California Route 111, Palm Springs. Palm Springs Aerial Tramway property, around and below parking area. Elevation about 2600 feet.
HabitatRocky, dry northeast-facing slopes, bedrock apparently granitic - metamorphic; soil sandy, with gravel and large boulders.; Western Sonoran Desert scrub, including Eriogonum fasciculatum, Sphaeralcea ambigua, Mirabilis bigelovii, Eriodictyon crassifolium, Bernardia, Prosopis.; Flowers yellow, horizontal; infrequent soft-woody shrub 1.5 meters tall, among boulders.
