HabitatDisturbed rocky clay, south-facing slopes.; Very degraded chaparral, indications of clearing and pasture use; numerous exotic grasses with remnants of native vegetation. Generally with Bromus spp., Eriogonum fasciculatum, Artemisia californica, Phacelia, Bloomeria.; Flowers magenta, showy; stems brittle; common rounded perennial to 0.5 meter tall.
