Locality North side of California Route 78, 1.7 miles west of Glamis (measured from railroad crossing), Algodones Dunes. Elevation about 302 feet.
HabitatPale brown high wind-deposited sand dunes, deep deposits, granitic sand, separated by lower level washes.; Sonoran desert. Sparse desert - dune vegetation, dominated by Cercidium floridum, Larrea tridentata, Oenothera deltoides, spring herb layer.; Rather common annual herb. Flowers yellow, erect, opening at dusk; stems and taproot white, pithy. Foliage and fruits adhering to clothing.
